I went in for an Ultrasound to see if I had a blood clot in my leg. By the time I got the results it was 5:00 PM. They could not get a hold of my Dr. and advised me to go to the ER. While in ER they did a CT scan and found I had a Pulmonary Embolism in my lungs. They told me I had a saddle clot (the worst kind) and that I am lucky my lung didn’t collapse and I didn’t have a stroke or a heart attack! I truly believe your techs saved my life by advising me to go to the ER! Thank you!

No. Calcium Score+ and CT Bone Density do not change your CT exam. They use the same images captured during your scheduled scan and apply advanced AI analysis after the exam is complete to generate enhanced results.
No. There is no additional scan time and no additional radiation. The enhanced reports are created after your CT is complete using the images already captured during your exam.
No new referral is required. You can add Calcium Score+, CT Bone Density, or both during scheduling or at check-in when you arrive for your qualifying CT exam.
Results for the optional AI add-ons are delivered directly to you through SimonMed’s Digital Health Platform—a secure, interactive mobile experience with easy-to-understand results, a personalized action plan, and support with recommended next steps. When ordered as a bundle, results arrive separately as they become available. Your referring provider will also receive the standard radiology report for your CT exam.
CT Bone Density provides T-score and Z-score metrics along with vertebral fracture assessment using CT images already being acquired—so no additional radiation from a separate exam is needed. Clinical studies have found that CT-based bone mineral density assessment is a feasible and reliable method comparable to DEXA.
These AI-powered add-ons are optional enhancement to a standard CT scan and are not currently covered by insurance. Patients may use HSA or FSA funds to pay for Calcium Score+ and/or CT Bone Density, in addition to any charges associated with their CT.
