Your heart, in remarkable detail with CCTA

A Coronary CT Angiogram (CCTA) is a quick, non-invasive heart scan that captures detailed 3D images of your coronary arteries. It helps detect plaque buildup, narrowing, or other early signs of heart disease—often before symptoms appear—so you can take control of your heart health with confidence.

Advanced imaging that reveals what matters most

CCTA uses cutting-edge CT technology to visualize your heart’s arteries, structure, and blood flow. By providing a clear picture of how well blood moves through your coronary vessels, your doctor can assess risk, guide treatment, and help you stay ahead of heart disease.

  • Non-invasive, detailed 3D imaging of the coronary arteries
  • Detects narrowing and plaque before symptoms occur
  • Helps identify causes of chest pain or shortness of breath
  • Quick and accurate with minimal radiation
  • Reviewed by expert cardiac imaging specialists

CCTA with AI Plaque Analysis

Even arteries that look “clear” can hold soft, hidden plaque that may rupture and cause a heart attack. Traditional heart tests often focus on blockages that restrict blood flow but many serious cardiac events start earlier, when plaque is still forming.

CCTA with AI Plaque Analysis adds a deeper level of insight by using advanced artificial intelligence to measure the exact amount and type of plaque in your coronary arteries. This technology analyzes thousands of image data points that may be too subtle for the human eye, identifying early warning signs of heart disease long before symptoms begin.

With this knowledge, your physician can create a more personalized care plan whether that means lifestyle changes, medication, or closer monitoring—to help you stay ahead of potential problems.

Ask your doctor if adding AI Plaque Analysis to your CCTA is right for you.

CCTA with FFR-CT

While a standard CCTA shows detailed anatomy, it can’t always tell how well blood is flowing through your arteries. CT-based Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) takes that next step. Using advanced computer modeling, it simulates how blood moves through your coronary vessels identifying whether any detected narrowing is actually limiting flow to your heart muscle.

This means your doctor can see not only where plaque exists, but also how it affects your heart’s function. As a result, many patients avoid unnecessary invasive procedures and get faster, more confident answers about their heart health.

By combining CCTA and FFR, SimonMed offers one of the most comprehensive, noninvasive approaches available to evaluate coronary disease—helping patients get the clarity they deserve without the need for hospital-based testing.

See every detail with 3D heart imaging

CCTA uses advanced CT technology to take hundreds of detailed X-ray images of your heart and blood vessels in just seconds. These images are combined to create a precise, 3D view of your coronary arteries—allowing radiologists to:

  • Detect narrowing or blockages caused by plaque buildup
  • Evaluate your heart’s anatomy and blood flow
  • Identify early signs of heart disease before symptoms appear

Early detection with CCTA helps prevent heart attacks and save lives.

40 %

patients who received CCTA had a 40% lower risk of heart attack or heart-related death

Who should consider a CCTA?

CCTA is safe, fast, and suitable for most adults who want to better understand their heart health. You may benefit from a CCTA if you have had any of the following experiences. Additionally, your provider can help determine if CCTA—or CCTA with AI Plaque Analysis or FFR-CT—is the right choice for you.

  1. Experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or unexplained fatigue
  2. Have risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or family history of heart disease
  3. Have abnormal results on other cardiac tests
  4. Want a clearer assessment of heart-disease risk before symptoms occur

I took my paperwork in filled in before my appointment. There was no wait with a room full of people with their appointments. I was treated extremely well for my lung CT. This is a good place to have CT’s done with the equipment used.

I went in for an Ultrasound to see if I had a blood clot in my leg. By the time I got the results it was 5:00 PM. They could not get a hold of my Dr. and advised me to go to the ER. While in ER they did a CT scan and found I had a Pulmonary Embolism in my lungs. They told me I had a saddle clot (the worst kind) and that I am lucky my lung didn’t collapse and I didn’t have a stroke or a heart attack! I truly believe your techs saved my life by advising me to go to the ER! Thank you!

I arrived at SimonMed on time for my appointment. Since this was a follow up scan (for lung cancer), and no changes had occurred to my status, I was swiftly processed. I received my scan and was out of the office in about twenty minutes. I highly recommend SimonMed for any imaging that you may require!

Front desk and xray techs so helpful and nice. X-ray techs found something on my heart, and it was a lung scan, that was really awesome of them. Thanks!

The entire visit typically takes 30–45 minutes, with the CCTA scan itself lasting only a few minutes.

Yes. A small amount of contrast dye is injected through an IV to help visualize your heart’s arteries. It’s safe and well tolerated by most patients.

CCTA is noninvasive and uses a low dose of radiation. At SimonMed, we use advanced dose-reduction technology to keep your exposure as low as possible.

A board-certified radiologist will review your scan and send results to your referring physician, usually within a few days. You’ll also receive a clear explanation of your findings.

Depending on your age and risk factors, a CCTA scan may be covered by your insurance. Ask your healthcare provider or insurance provider to determine your eligibility.
