A Coronary Calcium Score can reveal heart disease at its earliest, most treatable stage.
A quick scan with long term health benefits.
A Coronary Calcium Score is a fast, painless CT scan that measures the amount of calcium in the arteries that supply your heart. During the scan, you’ll lie comfortably on the imaging table while a CT camera captures detailed pictures of your heart in just a few seconds. No contrast, injections, or special preparation are required.
The images are then analyzed to calculate your calcium score—a number that reflects the amount of plaque buildup in your arteries. The higher your score, the greater your potential risk for heart disease. Your provider will review your results and help you understand what they mean for your preventive care and long-term heart health.

I took my paperwork in filled in before my appointment. There was no wait with a room full of people with their appointments. I was treated extremely well for my lung CT. This is a good place to have CT’s done with the equipment used.

I went in for an Ultrasound to see if I had a blood clot in my leg. By the time I got the results it was 5:00 PM. They could not get a hold of my Dr. and advised me to go to the ER. While in ER they did a CT scan and found I had a Pulmonary Embolism in my lungs. They told me I had a saddle clot (the worst kind) and that I am lucky my lung didn’t collapse and I didn’t have a stroke or a heart attack! I truly believe your techs saved my life by advising me to go to the ER! Thank you!

The Greenfield office in Gilbert was very nice. The appointments were scheduled back to back over the phone by rep. The check-in was easy because I finished it at home online before I went in. Front desk staff were smiling and friendly. The techs were amazing and very professional. Had mammogram, lung CT and Dexa bone density tests all done in less than 60 minutes. Great job SimonMed!

I arrived at SimonMed on time for my appointment. Since this was a follow up scan (for lung cancer), and no changes had occurred to my status, I was swiftly processed. I received my scan and was out of the office in about twenty minutes. I highly recommend SimonMed for any imaging that you may require!

In most cases, a doctor’s order is required. However, in some states, such as Nevada, Texas, and Colorado, you can schedule a Coronary Calcium Scan without a formal order. In these cases, we’ll simply need the name of your doctor so the results can be sent to them.
We do not perform calcium scoring for patients who already have coronary stents, have had bypass surgery, or have a history of atrial fibrillation.
Yes. Patients with pacemakers can safely receive the Coronary Calcium Scan.
Please avoid caffeine for 6 hours before your appointment. Otherwise, no special preparation is required for a Coronary Calcium Scan.
The scan itself takes less than five minutes from start to finish. There’s no recovery time afterward, and you can return to your normal activities right away. (Please note that this does not include any brief wait time before your scan.)
No. The Coronary Calcium Score is completely non-invasive and does not require any injections or contrast material.
Yes. SimonMed uses advanced low-dose CT technology to capture detailed images with minimal radiation exposure—prioritizing your safety without compromising image quality.
Depending on your age and risk factors, a coronary calcium scan may be covered by your insurance. Ask your healthcare provider or insurance provider to determine your eligibility. As part of SimonMed’s commitment to accessibility, we offer low self-pay costs. The Coronary Calcium Scan is currently available for $99.
Your results are reviewed by a radiologist and shared with your provider, who will explain your calcium score and discuss next steps for your heart health.
A high calcium score doesn’t always mean you’ll have heart problems, but it does indicate a higher risk. Your provider can use this information to recommend lifestyle changes, medications, or additional testing to help lower your risk and protect your heart health.
