Peace of mind with a breast MRI

A breast MRI is a highly sensitive imaging test that uses advanced magnetic resonance technology to create detailed images of your breast tissue. It’s especially valuable for women with dense breasts, unclear mammogram results, or an elevated risk of breast cancer. With no compression and no radiation, it offers a gentle and highly accurate imaging experience.

  • Essential for high-risk patients
  • Superior detection and accuracy
  • Safe and non-invasive
  • Critical aid in early detection

What can a breast MRI detect?

An MRI along with our AI-driven analysis, can identify small changes that may not be visible on a mammogram, especially for women with dense breast tissue. This includes:

  • Small tumors
  • Cancer recurrence
  • Breast implant changes

Who should consider a breast MRI?

A breast MRI may be recommended if you have any high-risk factors for getting breast cancer in your lifetime. Some small changes are not always visible on a mammogram, especially for women with very dense breast tissue. A breast MRI can give you clearer insight and greater peace of mind. Talk with your healthcare provider about whether it’s the right choice for you.

  1. Strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer
  2. Known genetic risk factors (e.g. BRCA1 or BRCA2)
  3. Unclear or inconclusive mammogram results
  4. Very dense breast tissue

Kori the assistant and Shelby the tech for my mammogram were wonderful – friendly, curteous, kind and professional. Best ever experience I’ve had here. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant. Shelby made this fun, she is so personable. First mammo ever where I actually found the exam so easy.

Front desk was very cordial and took only two minutes to check me in. The Mammogram Technician was great. I loved the fact she was the same tech from last year. She is AMAZING. I was in and out in only 30 minutes. All around 5 billion stars, sad I can only give 5. See you next year for sure.

A mammogram uses low-dose X-ray technology, while an MRI uses magnetic fields and contrast dye to create highly detailed images. MRI is typically used when more information is needed beyond a mammogram.

The scan typically lasts 30-60 minutes, and you can resume normal activities afterward.

In most cases, a referral is required if the MRI is for diagnostic purposes. If your mammogram results indicate the need for an MRI, your provider will guide you through the next steps.

During a breast MRI, you will lie face down on a padded table with openings for your breasts. The table then slides into the MRI machine, which captures detailed images using strong magnets. The scan is painless, involves no radiation, and typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. You may hear loud tapping sounds as the machine operates, which is completely normal.

No, the procedure is painless, but you will need to lie still inside the MRI machine while the images are taken.

Your radiologist will provide a detailed report. If further evaluation is needed, SimonMed offers comprehensive follow-up options, including biopsy services.
