Focus on giving
This month we’re letting you know more just about the latest diagnostic services and technology offered at Imaging. We’re proud to share with you our charitable contributions and the partnerships we have formed with many very worthy organizations that align with our mission to provide medical care and support to those in need. In just the last four years, SimonMed has given back more than $2 million through monetary donations and community outreach services to organizations such as Susan G. Komen, the Arthritis Foundation, the American Cancer Society and National Multiple Sclerosis Society, among others.
This year, we are honored to be the local presenting sponsor of the 24th Annual Susan G. Komen Arizona Race for the Cure®, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Cesar Chavez Plaza in downtown Phoenix. Additionally, we formed a team consisting of staff members, family and friends who are committed to reaching our fundraising goal of $50,000. We have also provided over $100,000 in free services for women without medical insurance who cannot afford breast cancer screenings, because we feel strongly that cost should not be a concern.
At SimonMed we truly care about the women in our communities and we’re dedicated to reducing or eliminating unnecessary breast cancer deaths. Research has shown that when breast cancer is diagnosed in stage 1, there is 98 percent survival rate and the treatment options become much larger. Our comprehensive women’s imaging program offers the latest technology and is staffed by experienced, dedicated and compassionate breast imaging radiologists. Our advanced diagnostic imaging tools include stereotactic, ultrasound- guided and MRI-guided breast biopsy, along with 3-D breast tomosynthesis mammography for early breast cancer detection.
